About

Viridian Space Corporation

Viridian Space Corporation is an early-stage space technology company based in El Segundo, California. We build a new generation of agile, self-fueling satellite platforms and open commercial access to Very Low Earth Orbit, the band that sits far below where most satellites fly today. Our platform makes its own propellant from the thin air it flies through, so it can reposition on demand and keep working for years.

From the founders

For as long as satellites have flown, each one has carried the same limit, committed to a single orbit and a single tank of fuel, fixed years before launch. We spent our early careers inside that limit, at Princeton's Electric Propulsion Lab and then The Aerospace Corporation, and we came away convinced it didn't have to hold.

Before maneuver on demand became a Space Force priority, we were already certain that the next generation of satellites had to be agile, self-fueling, and free to move across orbits.

We founded Viridian to build exactly that, and to open commercial access to orbits no one could use before.

Where this leads

Persistent presence in Very Low Earth Orbit has never been within reach. A platform that makes its own propellant and stays ahead of changes, and it changes the questions worth asking. When a satellite can hold its position and maneuver, new ways to operate become possible, opening new markets and new revenue.

This is greater flexibility, and it is more than that. It is a fundamentally different way of operating in space, and we believe it is the next frontier.

In the lab

The conviction that started Viridian still sets our pace. We are in the lab building hardware here in El Segundo every day, just down the road from where much of it began, and we test and improve the hardware that will fly.

Join us

We're looking for energetic, talented people to build it with us, from hardware prototyping through the first flight of our plasma propulsion system.

The ideas are big, and they're already proving out on the bench and heading for orbit. If you want to build them with us, or build on what we're making, we'd like to hear from you.
